What is an eMAR?
An eMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Record) is a technology, used in a care setting, that electronically records medication administration documentation. The software is meant to replace paper documents, usually provided by a pharmacy, that includes a patient's lists of current medications and their prescription details, such as directions, dosage, diagnosis, etc. At the time of administration, care staff can electronically document which medications a patient has received versus manually recording these details via pen and paper.
